Djanogly City Academy Sixth Form

Citizenship and Youth Action

We have formed partnerships with various Citizenship and Youth Action organisations. This is because we are committed to ensuring that our students are active members of their communities, and wider society. We do what we can to provide platforms for our students to get their voices heard, their stories told, and to lead the way towards positive change in the world.

Youth Action Leaders:

All of our associations and connections with Citizenship and Youth Action groups come together at Djanogly City Academy Sixth Form to allow us to provide incredible opportunities to our students, and to create Youth Action Leaders. These are students dedicated to engaging with these services, telling their stories, and advocating for effective and positive change for their peers.

Nottingham Citizens, a Citizens UK Chapter:

Over 30 organisations form our alliance, from schools, universities, trade unions, faith groups, charities and community groups. Together, we organise to tackle injustices and bring about change in our local communities.

We are a Voter Registration Champion!

Voter Registration Champions is a Citizens UK initiative supporting organisations to help their members register to vote. We think that is a great idea, and so we have signed up as a Voter Registration Champion. We are committed to encouraging you to register to vote, let you know about the new Voter ID requirements, and turnout on voting day.

Future Youth Impact:

FYI are group of young people dedicated to making youth voice and participation opportunities accessible and meaningful for all young people. Under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, all under 18's have the right to have their views listened to and taken seriously. From their own experiences, they have identified that the same group and demographic of young people are often the ones to get their voices heard.  The way this system is built is excluding the majority of young people.

Future Youth Impact work with young people in their own environments (e.g. schools and youth groups) to share their opinions through a creative format. After the workshops, they compile a report and feed this back to decision-makers.

Every member of the team is committed to using their networks to advocate for the views of all young people and promote inclusivity in participation.

  #iwill Movement:

#iwill is a movement comprised of over 1000 organisations and 700 young #iwill Ambassadors & Champions from across the UK. They are united by a shared belief that all children and young people should be supported and empowered to make a positive difference on the issues that affect their lives, their communities, and broader society.

#iwill is empowering, challenging, independent, collaborative and inclusive – it belongs to everybody.

The #iwill movement is powered by young people and organisations.

The #iwill Ambassadors and #iwill Champions, alongside organisations who sign up to the Power of Youth Charter, help ensure meaningful action is taken to support more children and young people to be active citizens.
